Free style Wrestling
Freestyle wrestling is an Olympic event. Under international rules any fair hold, trip, or throw is permitted. Forbidden are: kicking, punching, butting with the head, and holding the costume. Wrestlers are cautioned for irregularities, and three cautions mean disqualification. The bout is supervised by a referee on the mat, a mat chairman, a judge, and a timekeeper. A fall is awarded when one contestant holds both of his opponent's shoulders to the mat for one second.

Wrestling's origins go way back in time. In fact when the ancient Games of the Olympiad were born, wrestling was already an ancient game. The sport would return in a similar role when the Olympic Games returned after a 1500-year absence in 1896. Organizers, seeking direct links to ancient times, found a natural in the sport that had enjoyed popularity across much of the ancient world, from Greece, Assyria and Babylon to India, China and Japan. They resurrected Greco-Roman wrestling, a style they believed to be an exact carryover from the Greek and Roman wrestlers of old. Over the years, Europeans have dominated Greco-Roman wrestling. The latest and most impressive example is Russian heavyweight Alexander Karelin. He was looking to become the first man to win four straight gold medals in the sport at the Sydney 2000 Games. Alexander lost to his American opponent Rulon Gardner in the final by a score of 1-0. Considered one of the strongest men ever to compete in the Olympic Games, he specializes in picking up opponents — heavyweight opponents — and tossing them over his head. wrestling is the hardest sport. not only you need to be in better shape then you opponent to win, but you need technique in order to pin his. wrestling is the only sport in the world that you need be a specific weight to compete. unlike football wrestling is depended only on your self to win. you don't have to real lie on some one to win. when your on the mat you are the only one that can decide your future. Its like your a one man team. the more you win the better you want to get.
